Monkey Poo: Blocking Block B

Recently, a reader asked a question about Block B’s battles against their management company.  It’s a great question so I decided to address it in a more open forum here.  I’ve been aware of their struggles but haven’t really been following it very closely.  Frankly, Block B isn’t really a boy band I follow and I feel like the only instance in which they register on my radar is when a scandal pops up.  Though, it’s not the first time an idol or a young star has had problems of this nature.  However, I’ll just share my personal opinion on this particular situation from the tidbits I’ve gathered from the news outlets.

Monkey Poo: And the axe falls…

It’s a precarious time on the American tube right now.  May sweeps and the news as to whether your shows will be returning for another season.

Usually I don’t really report on this but it’s worth noting that NBC is going axe-happy on quite a number of shows.  Most I don’t even watch or care about and a few that I do.

Monkey Poo: MBC’s (Very Empty) Fresh New Slate

First, came the cancellation of the sitcom, What is Mom? and the decision to do away with sitcoms altogether.  Then, they cancelled the popular variety show, Come to Play, hosted by Yoo Jae Suk and Kim Won Hee.  All due to low ratings.  Mind you, MBC doesn’t have a replacement in mind yet.

Monkey Poo: What’s Occurrrring?

No, no, no, no, no.  I knew this was coming but I didn’t think FOX would order scripts of it already.  The bad news: an American version of Gavin & Stacey is looming in our future.  Fortunately, James Corden and Ruth Jones and some of the show’s former EPs will be involved in the show.  More importantly, they are helping to write the first scripts.

Monkey Poo: And the hits keep on coming…

First, it was reported that T-ara’s Eun Jung and Jang Woo would be ending their run on We Got Married.  They swore that it wasn’t due to the whole T-ara scandal but due to their busy schedules.

Then I heard about someone posting on the internet about an encounter they had with their elementary school student.  She reprimanded her niece for playing a game called the “T-ara Bully Game” where they pick one of their friends and bombard them with insults and harassment.  Since it was posted on an online community, I would take this bit of news with a grain of salt.

Now Eun Jung has dropped out of the drama for Five Fingers.  I knew something had to be up when the promo for the drama didn’t feature her.

Monkey Poo: Teaser for Vampire Prosecutor 2

Looks like we’ll be expecting Vampire Prosecutor 2 this September according to this teaser.  It doesn’t say or show much but Min Tae Hoon (Yeon Jung Hoon) says, “Cold blood, will be met by bad blood.”  Hmm, that pretty much explains the plot for the first season as this cold-blooded prosecutor fought the evils of this world.  However, I’m hoping that the “bad blood” will also mean the return of his sister?
