Monkey Poo: Making us all internet pirates

So, I’ve been monitoring the news this week about the SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act) laws that the government is trying to pass here in the United States.  Several websites like Wikipedia, Google, WordPress staged a massive protest this past Wednesday to oppose the bill.  (**Click on pictures below for the sources.)

The internet is supposed to be this place for a free exchange of ideas.  Along with that, I know there are cons too.  I’m all for stopping piracy and other cybercrimes but I wouldn’t be able to do what I do here on this blog without sites like Wikipedia or Megaupload, the latter of which is currently shutdown.

I’m not here to tell you what you should believe but to tell you that it is important to read up on what’s going on.  Because this affects all of us and it’s a worldwide issue.
