I supposed I can’t really say that I’m crazy about her YET. I’ve just been keeping an eye out for her. It’s nice to see that a fellow Korean artist is helping out an up and comer. Juniel is a Korean singer who won first place on Niji Iro Supernova (aka Japan’s version of American Idol). She’s and 18 year-old, singer-songwriter who flew out to Japan in order to audition for the competition. And it seems like the CN Blue members are pitching in to help out with her Korean debut.
The first release from her debut mini album, “My First June,” is “바보 (Stupid)”. The song’s cute but it’s got that distinct CN Blue sound because Jung Yong Hwa doesn’t only feature in the song but he co-composed and produced the track. However, I really like her voice. I’m eager to hear what the other tracks sound like as she co-composed 3 of the 5 tracks on her album.
Her album comes out later this week and I may or may not choose to feature a song in my Playlist post when it drops later this week. The teaser for “Illa Illa” does seem to have a different sound. CN Blue’s Kang Min Hyuk and Park Ha Sun appear in the video teaser for the track.
But for now, I can’t stop humming along to “바보 (Stupid)”.
