It’s been 6 years since I began this journey on Musings of a Chunkeemonkeeato. I’ve had some incredible experiences over those years, including making an internet community of new friends, going to KCON in LA and NY, sharing aspects of my culture and gushing about the world of entertainment, specifically Korean television, movies and music.
I realize that it’s very late in the game. I’ve known for a few weeks that I would be moderating a panel at KCON NY but I’ve been busy with the preparations that I haven’t had the chance to post the details yet. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it to LA this year but I promise that the NY one is going to better than it’s ever been before. Better late than never, right?
I’ll be on vacation for the rest of the month to the land of hobbits, elves and home to Flight of the Conchords. There will be a new playlist post for this Friday but I’ll update the blog once I have returned from Middle Earth in 3 weeks. Feel free to follow on Instagram and Twitter and comment. I’ll try to keep up as best as I can with shows but no drama spoilers, please.
Apologies for the late updates! As you may have noticed, it’s been a little bit hectic with artist and schedule changes for KCON LA. The same goes for the panel side as we had some changes in who the speakers on the panels will be and who is moderating. However, I’m here to provide some updates and information. Similar to NY, I will be speaking on two panels and I am very, very excited about these panels (details below). For complete details about KCON LA, please be sure to check out the KCON website. Sometimes changes are made last minute so I recommend that you download the KCON app (Android and iOS) to give you the most up-to-date information and provide you phone notifications to remind you of upcoming panels and other events.
5. Five. 오. ご．五。Cinq. Cinco. V. Somehow year number 5 feels special. Like, how did we get here?
Thank you if you’ve been here fangirling (or fanboying) with me since the beginning! Thank you if you’ve been here fangirling (or fanboying) with me since yesterday and everyone in-between! And thanks to Empire Cake Bakery in NYC for customizing this beautiful and delicious Bananas Foster cake for me. It ain’t a party if there’s no cake. There’s also a free giveaway so check out details below.
You may already know that KCON is coming back to NY and LA. I’m sure many of you have already bought your tickets. I am going to both NY and LA this year but I can’t believe that NY is a little more than a week away. I am speaking at two panels for NY (details below) so I hope to see many of you there. For complete details about both KCON NY & LA, please be sure to check out the KCON website. If you’re new to the KCON experience, please see below for my recommendations on how to make most of your KCON experience. For those heading out to KCON LA, please check back in later for those details.
For those who did make it KCON LA, I heard it was a blast. I just received notice that there was a schedule change regarding the panel I’m on. I’ve updated my previous post so please be sure to check out the info there. Also, it is super helpful to download the KCON app for the latest updates. Hope to see you there!
As you might have heard, KCON is happening on both coasts this year. I will be heading to KCON NY this year. Similar to last year, I’ll post a recap of the weekend with videos. But if you’re planning to attend, please be sure to stop and say hello!
We’re only now 10 days away from KCON! If you haven’t already checked out the schedule, there are tons of activities, panels and concerts planned for that weekend. I hope one those activities will be checking the many drama panels this year. So now that I am at the liberty to do so, I can speak more about the panel that I’ll be in. I’ll be moderating the Women in K-Drama panel in which various bloggers/vloggers discuss the role of K-Drama women and the actresses who play them over the years. What makes these women tick? What roles would we like to see these women play in the future? We also want to hear your thoughts and your questions.
