It’s been 6 years since I began this journey on Musings of a Chunkeemonkeeato. I’ve had some incredible experiences over those years, including making an internet community of new friends, going to KCON in LA and NY, sharing aspects of my culture and gushing about the world of entertainment, specifically Korean television, movies and music.
5. Five. 오. ご．五。Cinq. Cinco. V. Somehow year number 5 feels special. Like, how did we get here?
Thank you if you’ve been here fangirling (or fanboying) with me since the beginning! Thank you if you’ve been here fangirling (or fanboying) with me since yesterday and everyone in-between! And thanks to Empire Cake Bakery in NYC for customizing this beautiful and delicious Bananas Foster cake for me. It ain’t a party if there’s no cake. Wow, it’s kind of crazy how quickly this anniversary crept up on me. I always feel like I’m not blogging enough but at the same time I want to watch so many more shows.
3 years ago, there was a lot of uncertainty when it came to this blog. Would I be able to keep it up? Who would read it? Through it all, it’s been a lot of fun to see other fans out there that obsess over K-Pop, K-Drama and other great TV shows and I enjoy reading your comments and tweets. If there is anything you’d like to see on the blog, such as a show I should watch or a song/group I should feature, I’d love to hear from you. Oooh if only I could be like Elementary’s Sherlock and watch 10 TVs at once. Can you imagine the time I could save?
I don’t know if anyone has noticed but we’ve made some updates to the Musings of a Chunkeemonkeeato blog. It’s the 2nd anniversary and we’ve got cake. Woo, cake!!! There have also been updates to the look of the blog as well.
When I started this blog, I wasn’t sure I could keep up with it and now a whole year had passed by. Yay! Wow, a year surely flies by fast.
I watch a lot of TV and films and my friends often ask me for my recommendations. I used to joke at how I probably watched 40 hours a week before the blog but now I think I watch much more than that. I watch at home, I watch on my way to work and I watch at the gym. Yeah, you can say I’m pretty obsessed or passionate. Tomayto, tomahto. If I could watch more TV while I sleep I would. (In fact, I do leave the TV on while I sleep. You know, you learn a lot about an actor’s ability to say the lines and sound editing by listening to a show. It’s like how people used to listen to radio plays on the radio.)
The blog started out as a way for me to keep track of what I watch and what I liked and disliked about them. However, I added a lot more features since then so I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about some of features of the blog and what’s in store for the future. In the last couple of days, I tweaked the layout of the site a wee bit so this will also serve as a tour. Continue reading →
