Ever since his unexpected appearance on Infinite Challenge in 2015, HYUKOH (and specifically, the band’s leader, Oh Hyuk) has become a household name.  They just recently released their latest album titled “23,” which is a reference to Oh Hyuk’s age and probably when he produced most of the songs on this album.  It’s not unlike how Adele titles her albums after the age in which the songs on those albums are about.  And yet, HYUKOH has their own unique sound in all of its “indie rock-ness,” for lack of a better word.  I think as much as his songs are about life, its struggles and growing up, sometimes I am surprised by the lyrical depth of his song, especially those songs in which he is expressing a stream of consciousness.

This weekend, Infinity Challenge finally aired their Young Dong Highway Music Festival which was filmed earlier this month on the Pyeongchang Winter Olympic grounds.  Despite the unfortunate incident where festival goers left behind tons of garbage and fans of Zion.T accidentally dialing the wrong number and filling the mailbox of a regular person, it seems to have gone off without too much of a hitch.  Although I liked most of the song from the various groups, I picked 3 songs to feature on this week’s playlist.

Primary is back with a new full-length album.  He’s been releasing some single for the last few months and I covered one of the tracks awhile back.  I’m glad to see him again after the plagiarism controversy.  Like his first album, I found that I could easily fall in love with every single track of this 2nd album, simply titled “2”.  Although, I’m not able to translate every single song, here is a sampling of a few of my favorite tracks.
