I am back! Sort of. I’ve never really been good at dealing with jetlag so on top of trying to catch up on shows, I’ve been trying to catch up on sleep. New Zealand is certainly the land of vibrant colors, sheep and rainbows. I wished I could have uploaded more pictures as I was traveling but outside of Auckland and Queenstown, I found their cell and wifi service to be really spotty. Perhaps when I catch up to my shows, I’ll spend some time uploading more images. However, the one show that I did keep up with while I was away was My Ugly Duckling, which was my favorite variety show pick of last year.
Sung Shi Kyung joined Shin Dong Yup and Seo Jang Hoon this week as the guest MC. While the moms were delighted to see him, Kim Gun Mo’s mom couldn’t help but warn him that they are very good at getting guests to tell them their secrets. Lol.
For the last few months, I’ve been watching Witch Hunt. I had wanted to watch the show when it first started airing but haven’t had the time. I got a chance to watch an episode during a slow week and now I have to watch it weekly… even though I still don’t have the time. Ha.
CHOOSE YOUR OWN DATING ADVENTURE
The latest variety show from JTBC is fluttering the heart of celebrities despite the fact that it is only a simulation dating game. Every two weeks, one female celebrity pretends to go on a virtual date with four male participants. At each stage, the male participants are faced with a question or dilemma that often comes up in the real dating world and must choose from a selection of multiple choice answers based on how they would face the situation themselves. Their responses could help them to either score points or lose points.
After some recommendations from my cousin and fellow reader Sia, I decided that my day at a Korean spa last weekend was the perfect time to load up episodes of Abnormal Summit and watch them all at once. I failed miserably as the warmth of the ondol floor drifted me off to sleep. However, I liked what I saw so I’ve been on an Abnormal Summit marathon this week.
While I didn’t watch every single episode, especially the ones in the beginning, I selected episodes based on either the topic or the guest and in total I’ve watched approximately 10 episodes since last Saturday. I loved the show.
I’ve had old school K-Pop on my mind lately, if you couldn’t tell. Probably because of Answer Me1994. However, even new songs today have been looking at their era for inspiration.
Spring does finally seem like it’s here and the weather finally feels like cooperating with that theory. And with that, the boys are introduced to their newest member: Actor Yoo Hae Jin.
As well as a new PD to head the show: Lee Se Hee. I love that the boys immediately start thinking about a nickname to call their new PD since they called their last one Bird PD. Lee Su Geun points out that he has a familial resemblance to Comedian Hwang Hyun Hee from Gag Tonight. Uhm Tae Woong supposes he looks like a hamster so Ham PD? But then Kim Jong Min thinks he kinda looks like a bald eagle which prompts the PD to put on his cap. Hmm, Jong Min. Don’t want to push the new PD too far, too soon or else you might end up paying for it.
The first mission has the boys looking for Hae Jin at one of the rest stops on their way to Tong Young. Only the members that find him are able to eat breakfast with him. Each stop is known for having a particular dish so it all depends on what he would want to eat.
Some viewers have criticized the chemistry between the members of the 1 Night 2 Days Season 2 cast. They don’t feel the camaraderie or cohesion that was there with the 1st group is here with this group. However, I think that it takes some time for the group to get used to each other especially since it’s quite a big group and it has to happen naturally. This last trip proved that the group is well on their way to becoming a family.
Uhm Tae Woong seemed comfortable enough to start joking around again with his corny jokes this week and Seung Woo proves he’d do anything for a mere spoonful of food.
