Sometimes it seems like if you’ve seen one corruption drama, you’ve seen them all but I can’t help but be left on the edge of my seat whenever I watch Forest of Secrets. If you haven’t been watching this drama, I strongly encourage it as it feels timely but I also feel like the show allows the viewers to come to their own conclusions about the characters guilt or innocence.
Adding to my heavy load of K-Dramas that I’m currently watching, Forest of Secrets is another drama that I’ve been looking forward to. Yes, the cast is made up of veteran actors but the story somehow feels very timely as it deals with political corruption.
YOU CAN GET WITH THIS, OR YOU CAN GET WITH THAT
When Kim Hye Kyung’s (Jeon Do Yeon) husband, Prosecutor Lee Tae Joon (Yoo Ji Tae), is sent to jail after a public scandal involving sex and corruption, Hye Kyung returns to her law practice so that she can take care of her family.
She’s hired by MJ Law Firm as a first year, run by an old law school buddy, Seo Joong Won (Yoon Kye Sang), and his sister, Seo Myung Hee (Kim Seo Hyung). Not only must Hye Kyung deal with her personal problems in the spotlight but she also faces stiff competition from young lawyers at MJ as well as other lawyers who want to win their cases against her.
It was one of the best episodes of Fantastic Duo ever that probably did not make you want to go outside. Not that anyone would want to go outside. I mean, seriously. I made a big mistake in thinking I could handle going outdoors.
