Gummy’s long-awaited studio album is finally out. I don’t think I have any other reason for featuring her in today’s post other than I just believe in her talents as an artist. They don’t call her a diva for nothing with her powerful vocals and confident disposition.

JEALOUSY IS NOT A GOOD LOOK ON YOU
Pyo Na Ri (Gong Hyo Jin) is a weather forecaster who dreams of becoming a news anchor. She’s also harbored a crush on her colleague, Reporter Lee Hwa Shin (Jo Jung Seok), for 3 years. The prickly Hwa Shin does harbor any romantic inclinations towards Na Ri until she meets his best friend and the chaebol heir to a luxury fashion brand, Go Jung Won (Go Kyung Pyo). Unlike Hwa Shin, Jung Won is the perfect gentleman towards Na Ri and begins to develop feelings for her.

Jive Monkey Playlist: 7/27/15
Oh My Ghost continues to delight me. This week, we finally get some forward movement with some of our main characters an equally enjoyable jazz soundtrack.
Just Bananas About: Week of 7/17/15
The new TVN drama, Oh My Ghost (Oh My Ghostess? The jury is still out on how I’m going to translate this title.), started about two weeks ago but already I’m finding it cute and endearing. In many ways the drama reminds me of both Chilling Romance and Master’s Sun, due to the meek female character who shuns away from people due to her ability to see ghosts. This drama certainly isn’t rewriting the book on horror/romcoms but, as with many TVN dramas, the characters are its biggest draw.
[Review] The Face Reader – 관상
DON’T READ THE TRAILER AT FACE VALUE
Nae Gyeong (Song Kang Ho) is the most skillful face reader in the Joseon dynasty. His life turns upside down when he is offered an opportunity by Yeon Hong (Kim Hye Soo), a gisaeng/businesswoman and at Paeng Heon’s (Jo Jung Seok), his brother-in-law, insistence, he takes the job. After reading the face of one of the guests, his skills gets noticed by King Munjong and Nae Gyeong is summoned by King Munjong to identify potential traitors that threaten his reign.
After King Munjong’s untimely death, Nae Gyeong is invited by Grand Prince Suyang (Lee Jung Jae) who yearns to usurp his nephew by whatever means necessary to become King himself. When Nae Gyeong decides to remain loyal to the late King and help Kim Jong Seo (Baek Yoon Shik) to protect the young King, it not only puts his life in danger but endangers the life of his son, Jin Hyung (Lee Jong Suk).
[Review] The King 2 Hearts – 더킹 투하츠

[Review] Introduction to Architecture/Architecture 101 – 건축학개론
THE FOUNDATIONS OF FIRST LOVE
Jun Ram Hwe – 기억의 습작 (Calligraphy of Memories)
The story is about a look at first love as Seung Min (Uhm Tae Woong) is commissioned by Seo Yeon (Han Ga In) to rebuild her old house. They first met in college through their “Introduction to Architecture” class as young Seung Min (Lee Je Hoon) and young Seo Yeon (Bae Suzy) navigate through adolescence by learning about love and heartbreak. The movie goes back and forth between the past and present as the adult counterparts walk down memory lane as they build the house.
Mmmusings… – Must-See TV Men
There’s something you gotta love about Thursday night programming. It doesn’t matter what country you’re in. When NBC coined the phrase “Must-See TV” it was back in the 80’s but I really think the heyday for this phrase was in the 90’s for Mad About You, Seinfeld and Friends. Well, at least in my memory anyways.
So I watch both Rooftop Prince and The King 2 Hearts and I love them both equally but for very, very different reasons. And in the States, I always have to watch The Vampire Diaries before I go to bed on Thursday night. I don’t care how late it is because the loopholes and cliffhangers always provides me with water cooler material the next morning. However, it’s a coincidence that all 3 shows provided me with very watch-worthy, plot-moving men that make them a very, merry must-see. It’s funny how 3 very different shows can do that.
Beware! MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!
[Review] What’s Up – 왓츠업
WHAT’S THAT PLAYING ON MBN?
There have been many musical k-dramas this last year and it took What’s Up awhile to get broadcast. The drama is about the lives of the 1st year students in a musical program at a university. The timeline expands from the time the students apply to the prestigious program to when they premiere their theatrical project.
There are a lot of characters in this drama and I like that all the characters come from different backgrounds and bring different kinds of baggage. In that way, I was continually interested in the plot because I had a different person to care and worry about or story to follow.
