Mmmusings… – Walking on Sunshine
From time to time, I receive these bloggie awards. More than it being about the award itself, I love that it’s about a community of bloggers who are supporting each other. Sometimes it can be very lonely in the blogosphere but through our readers and the fellow bloggers, we get the feeling that we’re not just talking to ourselves about our passion for K-Drama, K-Pop and etc. So thanks Only and apqaria! I’m may be a little (or veeery) late in responding but I’m incredibly honored for the nomination.

Mmmusings…- Confessions of a 2nd Generation K-Drama Fan
I was working late last night (yes, I do have a day job) and on my way home after an exhausting day. Sometimes I just zone out on the train ride home, last night I was just browsing various social media sites on my phone when I happened upon Stephanie Kurze’s post “We Have It Good” on Crazy For Kdrama.
She talked about how she gets frustrated when certain shows she likes aren’t subbed in English or now that she’s learned a little Korean, things aren’t translated as they should be. Although she states that it is certainly a lot easier to follow K-Entertainment these days than 10 years ago, I can certainly understand where some of her frustrations are coming from.

So I’m trying something new today. I’m going to be watching Jessica & Krystal and providing commentary. I will be joined by my younger sister as soon as she finishes making the piña coladas. Summer drinks compliments this show so well. And what better way to enjoy the show than with my own sister going by the username, OinkNew. She likes pigs and Onew.

Mmmusings… – Categorizing the Unclassifiable
So it’s been awhile since I did one of these posts but I read an article today that totally defines why I made up this type of category. So it’s that time of year for Emmy submissions and recently Showtime’s Shameless decided to submit the show under comedy instead of drama, which it did for previous years. To me, that felt like a sensible move but should it really be considered a comedy? When I think of drama, I expect the tone to be very serious for a majority of the running time. Though the series has ended, Breaking Bad is totally a drama, even though it had its light moments which made me laugh. But what about a show like True Blood in which the tone can be serious but also tongue-in-cheek?
Mmmusings… – Pow! Zap! Holy Affleck, Batman!
After seeing the casting news of Ben Affleck as the new Batman came out, it’s been quite an interesting read in the Twitter–sphere lit up on how people felt about seeing the former Daredevil in the next Man of Steel sequel.
Many people moaned about why Christian Bale didn’t just take the $50 million dollars they were offering to play the role again but I think Richard Dreyfuss’ comment sums it up best:

So I got directed to an interesting article at The Hollywood Reporter in which director Steven Spielberg predicted an “implosion” in the film industry is imminent. Just reading the headlines, it had me scratching my head. What did that mean?
Mmmusings… – It’s not even Halloween yet
Every year I feel like the stores get ready for Christmas earlier and earlier. It’s not even Halloween yet and the Christmas decorations are on sale. Did marketers forget that we also have American Thanksgiving in November? And now the Wonder Girls have released their contribution to the “A Very Special Christmas” album. This compilation album’s proceeds goes to the Special Olympics and in its 25th year.

And what do they do with my love? They obviously don’t live a quiet middle-aged life. Even after the travesty of Comeback Show Top 10, I forgave them. So what if they wanted a little spotlight? It was a nice where are they now. The singing was another thing. Lee Sung Wook had a nice life with a wife and kids and his own BBQ restaurant. Sung Dae Hyun still seemed to be in the entertainment world. And Park Chul Woo had his own bar and thankfully besides making an appearance, he declined to get back together. I don’t blame him. He was pretty old when he was originally in the group to begin with.
